Karthik Swarnam is a Security and Technology leader that has built security programs at global scale. He focuses on significantly reducing enterprise risk while enabling the business through technology. With over 25 years of security and technology experience, Karthik has been CISO at Fortune 10 companies and led large scale consulting organizations. His areas of security expertise include solutions for IoT, vulnerability management, software-defined networking, identity management, SOC, infrastructure, applications, and cloud computing, among others.
Karthik is a proven leader with a track record of bringing innovative solutions to bear at scale. He passionately believes in the power of security as a business enabler – protecting critical business, data and network operations while implementing technology and process initiatives required to realize improvements in security posture, regulatory compliance, cost, revenue,
and quality objectives.
He was a founding member and leader of Accenture’s security practice, where he built a security architecture framework (SAF) used by companies around the world. He is an advisor to several startups, large enterprises, national governments, and C-level executives in the areas of IT strategy, security vision and transformative risk management. He regularly presents to boards and senior executives on risk appetite, tolerance and risk management programs.
Karthik earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Annamalai University in India and a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit. He also completed the leadership development program at Harvard University.
Karthik lives in Chicago with his wife. He is an avid golfer who enjoys traveling around the world.
